Welcome to my work-in-progress page. The purpose of this page is to air my latest poems - the ones on which I am currently working. If you have any comments or criticisms of these poems, then please feel free to e-mail them to me. Enjoy your stay in the workshack - and if you find my cliché chisel, please hang it back on the wall.
Olympus
One of my ongoing projects is to write some poems about the forthcoming Olympic Games, to be held in London in 2012. Why? Well, I live less than a mile away from where the stadium is being built - which in my view gives me a perfect right to consider myself a very unofficial poet-not-quite-in-residence-but-just-on-the-borders-if-you-know-what-I-mean for the whole shebang. I'm sure there will be officially appointed poets along in due course, but until someone sues me here's the poems that are competing for the glory of appearing in my forthcoming chapbook (due sometime in 2012, provisionally titled Olympus, because the organising committee seem to be a bit on the sharp side when it comes to trademarks and stuff):
- Joke News (January 2009)
» Did you read the news? - Trafalgar Week (August 2006)

Other stuff
True to my multitasking prowess, I'm capable of working on more than one project at a time. Poems get written for many different reasons, but one of my main driving forces seems to be the annual NaPo (National Poetry Writing Month) that infests the internet every April. It does take some time to weed and reshape those hasty drafts into something more palatable: you have been warned!
- Competitive Plucking (April 2010)
» My goose hisses as I walk the length - From the Ass's Jaw (April 2009)
» Do you believe in destiny? - Oistins on Friday (April 2009)
» Fish scales blue as chop sea - On the Front (Door) Line, 2010 (April 2010)
» They've started already, words - Party Political Fortune Cookies (April 2010)
» Labour: a mass of sweat - Second Sin (February 2009)
» He brings a harsh heat into the room - Shoes in the Charity Shop (April 2010)
» Like a stack of footfalls they pile in tangles - Snowdrop: Introduction and Contents (October 2009)
- The Ewe Seeks Her Lambs (April 2010)
» She has the prim hips of one - The Shoppers' Choice (April 2010)
